The back end of the first round of the NFL Draft is often fluid. Teams cover the fifth-year option for the players' contracts, and often do not want to test their luck by hoping a certain prospect falls to them in the second round.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Rams could be one team that is willing to move out of round 1 if another team comes calling.
At No. 31, the Rams already have received calls from teams interested in trading into the back of the first round, per sources. Teams value getting the fifth-year option in the contract’s of first-round picks, and the back of the draft tonight is likely to be fluid and busy.

There are a number of scenarios that could play out. West Virginia quarterback Will Grier has been rumored to be getting late first round interest from teams — such as the New England Patriots. If a team such as Miami or Washington misses out on one of the draft's top four QBs, could they try to jump the Patriots for Grier?
In addition, there are several prospects graded in the late-first to early-second round that teams may covet, especially with the fifth-year option. Players such as Mississippi State defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, wide receivers Paris Cambell, N'Keal Harry and Marquise Brown and cornerbacks Greedy Williams and Byron Murphy are all players who could entice teams to make a move.
The Rams have not made a first-round pick in two years. Nevertheless, Les Snead sounded open to trading back at his pre-draft press conference Tuesday but did say the Rams have to be prepared to pick at No. 31 in case they can’t move down. Needless to say, trading out of the 31st pick isn’t likely to be much of a challenge.
