Sean McVay is only 32-years-old and is already entering his second year with the Los Angeles Rams. If he was to coach until he was 67-years-old, that means he would have 35 years of head coaching under his belt. McVay knows the stresses that come with being a head coach and knows the risks that come with it.

McVay talks about all things football including his future in football on an upcoming episode of HBO's “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.” McVay was asked by Gumbel if he plans on doing this for only a decade or two or whether he'll do it as long as he is physically able too.

“Yeah, it’s a good question. I love this game so much. But I don’t know what else I would do,” McVay said, according to the HBO report via The Rams Wire. “I’ve gotta continue to do a better job of figuring out that work-life balance. Being able to shut off. Because there’s always, you’re kinda always just thinking through things. Your mind’s always racing. And I– I know that it can’t be healthy to continue to do this for a long time. But while– while you’re able to do it and feel like you’ve got some energy, you sure love it.”

McVay's comments came before the tragic death of Tony Sparano over the weekend, so his comments weren't a reflection of his death. His passing shows just how much extra stress this life can have on the coaches.
