The Los Angeles Rams have a primetime matchup in Week 9 on the road against the New Orlean Saints that could wind up being an offensive showdown.

Los Angeles appears to be on track to have one of their key factors in the passing game with second-year wide receiver Cooper Kupp being on track to return to the fold this Sunday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This is a potential major boost to the Rams' offense as Kupp has proven to be a key part of the offensive puzzle over his first two years in the league. He had taken that up a notch prior to his knee injury as he had posted 30 catches for 438 receiving yards and five touchdowns through the first six games of the season. However, he had missed last Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers due to the injury. He has been able to practice on a limited basis this week while head coach Sean McVay had stated he believes the 25-year-old could have played in Week 8.

Kupp has quickly become a huge asset both in the red zone and third down situations. His presence adds another dimension to the passing game behind his ability to impact the passing game on spaces of the field. Kupp's return gives them another asset to lean at the position beyond Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Josh Reynolds, who has performed well in his absence with three catches for 42 receiving yards and two touchdowns against the Packers.

The Rams have a major challenge in front of them against the Saints, who also possess one of the league's most productive offenses. This contest could turn out to be a duel between both units, which could very well see Kupp be put into a prominent role in the passing game in what will be a pivotal matchup with potential playoff implications.
