Coming away from the Los Angeles Rams big victory there was a lot of praise handed out to quarterback Jared Goff including by Sean McVay for the way his quarterback handled himself all game, but especially with the final drive that led the team to the victory.

With 1:56 remaining in the game Goff threw a touchdown pass to tight end Gerald Everett that gave the Rams a three-point lead and was ultimately the game-winning touchdown pass. Patrick Mahomes threw an interception on each of the next two drives and that led the Rams to pull out the thrilling victory.

“He was awesome, especially in the last drive,” McVay said via Pro Football Talk. “You talk about, I think it was a six-play drive, they were mixing in some 2-man (coverage) and then going into a little bit of an invert and he was just finding the right completion.

“So many guys made plays today but I thought Jared’s poise and confidence, ability to respond when it wasn’t always pretty especially in some instances is why you love him and why he’s such a great quarterback because of that even-keeled demeanor and disposition and that poise that we always talk about.”

Goff finished the game completing 31 of 49 passes for 413 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Just a few years ago Goff was already being called a bust after being the first overall pick. McVay and Goff had built quite the relationship with each other, and they hope this year it will end with the Rams winning the Super Bowl. They still have quite a few wins to go to make that a reality but they appear to have a team that could get it done this year.
