The Los Angeles Rams have high expectations for this season and if star defensive lineman Aaron Donald doesn't report to the team those expectations might have to be tamped just a bit.
Donald not being at camp has hurt the team in a few ways and it has really messed with head coach Sean McVay's sleep schedule. McVay told the media after training camp Wednesday that he usually gets about four to six hours of sleep a night and with Donald not being at camp some night's it's even less.
“Oh, every night. I wake up with nightmares about it,” McVay said, laughing via The Rams Wire. “No. But yeah, that’s certainly something that you’d like to get taken care of. Let’s put it this way: I’ll sleep a lot better if we get that thing taken care of.”
To get a deal done and Donald in camp one of the sides is going to have to give up something and it's probably going to have to be the Rams. Donald hasn't publicly said how big of a contract he would like but chances are to get a deal done he will become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.
Donald isn't wavering and there is a chance that he could sit out regular season games to get a deal done. McVay would like to start getting more sleep again at night but he said he doesn't have any news in regards to a deal getting done anytime soon.
