The Los Angeles Rams have a tough matchup in Week 6. At 3-2, they're facing off with their NFC West divisional rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are a surprising 4-0 though and lead the division.
As if this would not have already been a tough game, Los Angeles might be heading into it without one of their key players.
Superstar running back Todd Gurley is currently day-to-day with a left quad injury. It even caused him to miss practice on Thursday.
Sean McVay said Todd Gurley has a thigh contusion in his left quad. Gurley did not practice today and is considered day-to-day, McVay said.

The Rams find themselves on a current slide. They've lost two straight games after starting the year 3-0. That includes a Week 5 loss to another divisional opponent in the Seattle Seahawks.
Now they could be facing an undefeated team without their best player.
Of course, day-to-day certainly isn't a death sentence. Gurley has battled injuries before and gotten through them, so this could be a very similar story.
At the same time, though, the fact that he missed practice on Thursday should be a little concerning. It's not like this is a practice early in the week. The Rams are now getting closer to their game and don't have their star running back participating in practice.
In his place, Los Angeles has Darrell Henderson (who they took in the third round this year) and Malcolm Brown. Both would likely see a good amount of time in Gurley's absence as the Rams try to fill the void.
No matter the situation, the game plan will likely be similar. The Rams will want to attack San Francisco from all sides on offense and get to the quarterback and stuff the run on defense. That won't change no matter who's out.
