Back in February, the Los Angeles Rams fell to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl by a score of 13-3 in a surprisingly anemic offensive performance.
Now, with the 2020 campaign getting closer and closer, Rams running back Todd Gurley has put whatever happened this past season behind him, and that means he is not having nightmares about Tom Brady.
During an interview with Molly Knight of The Athletic, Gurley was asked whether or not he was over the Super Bowl loss, and he responded with this:
Article Continues Below“Are you asking if I get cold chills and then wake up and start yelling Tom Brady’s name?” asked a laughing Gurley.
Knight then said “yes,” to which Gurley replied:
“Nah. I don’t think about the game too much, to be honest,” said Gurley. “I’ll see stuff on the Internet and be like, damn, we could have had it. It was one of those moments for me where I just looked at it like a blessing to be able to do something I always wanted to do. To play in the Super Bowl feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But also to come up short is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Gurley is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he racked up 1,251 yards and a league-leading 17 touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 59 receptions for 580 yards and four scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.
However, due to a late-season knee injury that still does not seem completely healed, there is a whole lot of concern about Gurley heading into 2019.
