Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has already gotten his big payday, with the Rams signing him to a four-year, $57 million contract extension during the summer of 2018.

Now, Gurley is sitting back watching the rest of his friends around the NFL landing big deals, and he is thrilled for his comrades.

Of course, Gurley is in a tough spot right now.

Since sustaining a knee injury in Week 15 during the 2018-19 campaign, Gurley has not been the same.

Outside of his terrific performance in the Rams' Divisional Round playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys that year, Gurley has been a mere shell of himself since then, putting forth a couple of lifeless performances in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl that season and posting a pedestrian 2019 campaign that was very unlike Gurley.

In 15 games this past year, Gurley rushed for just 857 yards while averaging 3.8 yards per carry. He did punch in 12 touchdowns on the ground, but his lack of efficiency was alarming, and he did not log a single 100-yard outing all season.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Rams with the 10th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He has gone on to make three Pro Bowl appearances while notching a couple of First-Team All-Pro selections, leading the league in rushing scores in both 2017 and 2018.

Los Angeles was one of the NFL's most disappointing teams in 2019, going just 9-7 and missing the playoffs one year after winning 13 games and making it to the Super Bowl.
