It appears that one of the most publicized holdouts of training camp but be reporting to camp soon, with a new deal in hand. According to Mike Florio Pro Football Talk who quotes NFL sources, Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams are closing in on a new deal.
Per a league source, chatter is increasing regarding the possibility of the Rams and Donald getting a deal done soon. If it happens, it will mean that the two sides found a way to bridge the gap between how the Rams value Donald, and how Donald values Donald.
This seemed like the next logical step as people around the Rams had said late last week that the two sides were getting closer. Rams general manager Les Snead said that the that the two sides were “in the same zip code” in terms of a deal, while head coach Sean McVay says there's been ‘increased dialogue' between the two parties.

At the beginning of the holdout, both teams were acting like they weren't going to budge at all to either side. Rams COO Kevin Demoff remarked recently that the two sides did not agree on Donald's true market value.
The Rams have talked about how important it is for Donald to be on the team because even with all the moves made to improve the defense this offseason he is still the heart and soul up front. If they do come to terms on a long-term deal, it will be a huge move not only for this season but for years to come.
