The Miami Dolphins managed to secure their first win of the 2020 NFL season in dominant fashion over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Aside from the victory, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was able to back up his talk about beards being superior over mustaches.

Of course, Fitzpatrick had plenty of help making his case against Minshew. Head coach Brian Flores says he was pleased with the pressure the defense managed to generate up front, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

“It’s something we have been working on,” Dolphins coach Brian Flores said after the game regarding his team’s pass rush. “Every team wants to get pressure on the quarterback. We were able to do that tonight. There were instances where we could have done better, but definitely improved from previous weeks.

There is certainly plenty of truth to Flores' comments. Miami's pass rush sacked Minshew four times and hurried him 10 another times in the 31-13 win. In doing so, they effectively prevented him and the offense from ever truly finding their footing.

Although their pressure helped to disrupt Minshew and the passing game, the Dolphins allowed running back James Robinson to enjoy quite a breakout performance in Week 3 after he registered 129 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on only 17 touches. This may be a point of emphasis for Flores now that they have a few extra days to start preparing for the Seattle Seahawks.

Regardless, the Dolphins are clearly relishing in their newfound pass rush. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it going against the Seahawks.
