The Miami Dolphins had arguably the best acquisition of the 2022 NFL Free Agency, acquiring top-tier receiver Tyreek Hill. He is destined to be a huge contributor to the Dolphins' air game. However, it was a little unclear who he'd be catching passes from. Tua Tagovailoa had an overall successful season in Miami, but he wasn't a lock for the upcoming season.

With a little over a week before the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dolphins made their intentions clear, doubling down on Tagovailoa as their guy. According to general manager Chris Grier, the optimism of Tagovailoa from all of Miami's coaching candidates solidified the decision.

Miami Herald's Barry Jackson tweeted the news Wednesday morning.

This is a huge confidence boost for Tagovailoa, especially with recent rumors tying Tom Brady to Miami.

The Dolphins interviewed many candidates throughout their extensive search for a new head coach. This list includes Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore of the Dallas Cowboys, Brian Daboll and Leslie Frazier of the Buffalo Bills, and their final decision of Mike McDaniel.

According to Grier's statement, all of these NFL coaches saw potential in the Dolphins under the leadership of Tagovailoa. The 24-year-old led his team to a seven-game winning streak after starting the season 1-7.

With new additions like Tyreek Hill, plus additions from the upcoming draft, the Dolphins have the potential to be a playoff-contending team.
