Norton is only 22 years old and hails from Jacksonville, Florida. He played his college ball with the Miami Hurricanes and was a standout in his three years registering 84 tackles, with 18 of those going for a loss and five sacks.

Norton left the Hurricanes and entered the NFL draft being selected with the 242 overall pick in 2018 by the Carolina Panthers. He couldn't make the team and spent most of the season on the Panthers practice squad before being signed by the Dolphins last November.

Norton was expected to compete for a spot on the defensive tackle rotation this upcoming seasons and all signs pointed towards him making the team. It's unclear at this point exactly what the Dolphins plan on doing with him but at some point, he will probably be released.

At this point, those details are on the back burner and most important is that Norton can make a recovery and try to find a new normal in his life.
