The Miami Dolphins almost met with former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa before the NFL policy barred it from happening. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Dolphins were rushing to get a meeting in with Tagovailoa the night before March 13th when the NFL banned all visits.
On the night before the league halted visits between college prospects and NFL teams, the Dolphins rushed to try to get Tua Tagovailoa to Miami, per a source. Tagovailoa was the first college prospect the Dolphins tried to bring to Miami in March. But March 13, NFL banned visits.

Who knows how this could change one way or another for the Dolphins. But with a visit with Tagovailoa, they probably would have a clearer picture about what they wanted to do with the fifth overall pick. Many believe the Dolphins will take a quarterback in that spot. But there have been more rumors that it could be Justin Herbert going in that spot to Miami.
Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier said the team is leaning a certain way, but they will finalize everything this weekend.
“We have an idea of who we like,” Grier said via Joe Schad of the Pam Beach Post. “But again, we want to make sure we have all the information. We have medical meetings coming up in the next couple of days.”
Grier also said that the injury history with Tagovailoa doesn't necessarily mean he can't stay healthy and have a long career in the NFL.
“Historically, it can go all over the place,” Grier said, when asked if talent can overcome injury history. “You always want the talent. You talk about the kid, the person, the work ethic. You do look at injuries, it is a factor. which position he plays and such.”
Grier also pointed out that many players who were healthy in college became injury prone in the NFL. Grier probably wishes he had one more meeting with Tua in person to help make this decision a little easier.
