The Miami Dolphins are set to release defensive lineman Andre Branch, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Branch was due to make in the neighborhood of $7 million next season.

In 14 games this past year, Branch finished with just 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in a bench role.

He originally signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Dolphins in March 2016, and that ensuing season, Branch was impressive, registering 49 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and a couple of forced fumbles.

As a result, Miami rewarded the 29-year-old with a three-year, $24 million contract in March 2017, but Branch proceeded to post a very disappointing 2017 campaign, totaling just 23 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
