Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has thrown down the gloves in his duel against the Miami Dolphins and the NFL and is not stopping there. Flores is suing the NFL for racist hiring practices after numerous different situations over the past few years, indiscretions that finally boiled over to a fever pitch last week when New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick inadvertently told Flores that his upcoming interview with the New York Giants was a sham.

As part of Flores' lawsuit, he has outlined a pattern of inappropriate behavior around the NFL and especially his former employer, the Dolphins. One of the alleged incidents drew notable attention because it was revealed that it involved tampering with other players in the league. Flores claims that he was tricked by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross into meeting with a quarterback that was still under contract with another team (now known as Tom Brady) and that Flores ultimately left the meeting before any tampering could take place. That left many people wondering, why would Flores not want to meet with Brady?
Article Continues BelowWell, for one, we already mentioned the tampering aspects of all of this. Flores could have been fined and the team could have lost draft picks if he was seen talking to Brady before free agency began. But also, another key detail has emerged that Flores might also have been trying to do his old Patriots player, Brady, a “solid” by keeping him away from the moribund franchise that is seemingly in an endless tank-job. As Joe Schad reports on Twitter, that is exactly what happened…
Brian Flores admires and respects Tom Brady but didn’t want to tamper and also didn’t think it was the right time to recruit Brady considering the status of the Dolphins’ rebuild, which was intended to be a long-term plan, per source.

While some may come to Ross' side and say that he was just trying to get the best players for his team and any person would do the same, that is just playing “devil's advocate” and choosing a cop-out over the truth. You can choose to blame Flores or you can choose to get behind him. In the end, though, the truth will always come out and Flores is banking on that. He knew that the situation was not one that would be accommodating to Bardy in the twilight of his career and sacrificed the good of his own team to look out for Tom. We all should wish that we have anyone be that good of a friend to us in our lifetimes.
