Miami Dolphins Week 10 Predictions
4. Miami Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett will throw for under 200 yards
The Baltimore Ravens have had to face the dangerous (albeit inconsistent) passing games of the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals in recent weeks. They have also faced Justin Herbert of the Chargers, Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, and Carson Wentz of the Colts. Compared to each of those quarterbacks and the offenses they play for, the Dolphins are clearly and empirically worse.

Even if Tua Tagovailoa plays in this game (which is doubtful; the team would be foolish to rush Tua back to action instead of thinking about his long-term health and future), he probably would not produce big numbers. Tua has manifestly struggled in his NFL career. The Dolphins' offensive line is one of the worst in pro football. Brissett is a backup quarterback for a reason. He shows no signs of pulling a Mike White, meaning that there's no indication he will suddenly throw for 400 yards out of nowhere.
The Ravens' defense should enjoy playing the Dolphins' offense. It's not going to be one of the more challenging assignments Baltimore will face this season. Brissett needs help and resources in order to be at his best. He does not have that in Miami. Baltimore will keep him contained.
3. Dolphins will be within one score of the Ravens midway through the third quarter
Article Continues BelowThe Ravens' penchant for slow starts has been a relatively constant feature of their 2021 season. Granted, it's not guaranteed that Baltimore will continue to drift through the first halves of games. However, Thursday Night Football — a very short week complete with a commute to Miami — will create a situation conducive to another sluggish performance for Baltimore.
The final score might be more lopsided, but this game should be close for two and a half if not three quarters. If this scenario unfolds, the Dolphins will get a few chances to make pivot-point plays and reshape the game in a favorable way. The Ravens are unlikely to dominate the first 20 to 25 minutes.
2. Dolphins defense will get two takeaways from the Ravens
Lamar Jackson has been great this season, but he has been great in fourth quarters more than whole 60-minute games. As spectacular as Lamar has been in rallying the Ravens from big deficits, he has also played a role in creating those deficits. The Dolphins will get a few chances to collect takeaways from Baltimore and Lamar. They will successfully claim two turnovers over the course of Thursday night's clash.
1. Miami Dolphins will lose to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10
While the Dolphins will not get completely blown off the field on Thursday Night Football in Week 10, it will still be very hard for them to beat Lamar Jackson, the NFL MVP favorite, in prime time. The Ravens have played a tough schedule and have come through it with the AFC North lead. They're good. Miami isn't good. The Dolphins have just two wins, and their most recent win was an eyesore in which they committed five turnovers but managed to collect four takeaways from the brutal Houston Texans.
The Ravens, on a short week, probably won't play that well. Thursday night games are usually horrible precisely because of these short weeks. Yet, who thinks the Dolphins will play a high-level game? No one should.
