Before Deshaun Watson was sent to the Cleveland Browns, there were a number of NFL teams linked with him, including the Miami Dolphins. Apparently, the disgraced quarterback wanted to go to the South Beach franchise as well.
Rusty Hardin, who is handling Watson's civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct, revealed that they were in conversation with the Dolphins for a deal that would have sent the QB to Miami before last season's NFL trade deadline. There was mutual interest for sure, with Watson excited about the idea of playing for then head coach Brian Flores.
Unfortunately, things didn't push through since Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wanted his 22 cases at the time settled with non-disclosure agreement.

“The coach at Miami was somebody that Deshaun liked. He liked the team. He was just chomping at the bit to get back to football and get all this garbage behind him and so we were told, ‘I want to go to Miami.'”
This corroborates earlier rumors about the Dolphins' demands before making a trade for Deshaun Watson. However, it was a tough task for the QB's camp.
In the end, Watson was sent to the Browns this offseason as his civil lawsuit continues. The legal situation of the NFL signal-caller is getting worse, though, with two additional lawsuits coming his way.
