Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell is set to take over the mantle for the Minnesota Vikings. The 36-year-old has been picked by the franchise after their Jim Harbaugh debacle, and while some may consider O'Connell to be a back-up choice for the Vikings, this man is absolutely no scrub.
Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford has spoken out about O'Connell's move to Minnesota and unsurprisingly, he had nothing but good things to say about his offensive coach:
“He’s been spectacular,” Stafford said, via Andrew Krammer of Star Tribune. “… His demeanor and his ability to communicate and get to know guys on our team and demand a lot at the same time, I think, is something that will serve him well.”
O'Connell has undeniably played a major role in LA's success this season. The Rams are now on the brink of winning only their second Super Bowl title in franchise history. For their part, the Vikings are hoping that O'Connell is able to bring this level of success in Minnesota next season.

“He’s a light in the room, a great personality,” Blanton said. ” … My guy, man, since day one. Just talking to him and picking his brain, learning how he sees the game and things like that. Vikings fans, be ready.”
This will be O'Connell's first stint as a head coach in the league. Aside from the Rams, the former NFL quarterback has also held coaching positions with the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Commanders.
