The Minnesota Vikings are edging closer to moving up the ranks in playoff seeding in a one-score lead over the Green Bay Packers. To make things better for Minnesota fans, the team notched a new record in the process.

The team has now completed takeaways in 11 consecutive games, making them one of the most productive defenses in recent NFL history. They have the longest such streak in a season since 2001 (13 straight games).

Achieving such a feat in today's NFL landscape is a difficult one. Offenses are becoming much faster compared to before, so it can be hard for defenders to make an interception or force a fumble recovery.

However, that's exactly what the Vikings did. Thanks to their outstanding performance this season, there's no wonder that they have secured their tickets to the playoffs.

Spectators aren't the only ones who have noticed the improvements the Vikings made this season. Even their opponents are taking notice of how well the Vikings have been playing.

“I think they’re a completely different team – in all three phases,” Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said of the Vikings, via Vikings' Lindsey Young. “All you’ve gotta do is cut on the tape and watch – they’re just playing at a really high level, and they’ve beaten some really good teams and gone on the road and done it. … They’re undefeated [at U.S. Bank Stadium this season], so I know how tough they are at home.”

There is still plenty of football left to be played on “Monday Night Football,” but this could be a superb preview to how these two teams will be performing in the playoffs. Based on how the game has been going, the Vikings should be able to compete just fine.
