If Michigan Wolverines head coach John Harbaugh is really serious about returning to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, then it appears that he's got real competition. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings are also scheduled to have a second round of interviews with both Los Angeles Rams coordinators.

Vikings are conducting second HC interviews this week with both Rams coordinators, OC Kevin O'Connell and DC Raheem Morris, per sources. They previously interviewed each coordinator before hiring their GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

Apart from O'Connell and Morris, the Vikings are also expected to interview San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryan this week, per Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

Minnesota will conduct in person interviews in LA with Rams OC Kevin O’Connell and DC Raheem Morris, per source. 49ers DC DeMeco Ryans is also expected to interview again with the Vikings this week.

Of the three, it's Ryan who's got the most time to prepare for the interview, thanks in part to O'Connell and Morris, who helped the Rams eliminate the 49ers from Super Bowl contention.

As mentioned by Schefter, the general manager gig has now been filled with the hiring of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who succeeds Rick Spielman — fired together with Mike Zimmer by Minnesota after a disappointing campaign in which the Vikings did not even make the playoffs nor conclude the season with a record better than .500.

In what seems like a four-horse race, Harbaugh is the one without yet a formal schedule for an interview, though he had already spoken with  Adofo-Mensah over the weekend. Harbaugh is also showing interest in the position vacated by Brian Flores in Miami, so that's another factor to consider when projecting a landing spot for the former 49ers head coach.
