It is no secret that the New England Patriots enter Super Bowl 52 as the heavy favorites over Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have essentially made the Super Bowl an annual tradition of theirs over the last two decades.
However, Belichick is not buying into any of the hype surrounding his own team leading up to Sunday. According to Martin Frank of the Delaware News Journal, the stern coach shot down any notion having an advantage due to their championship experience:
Patriots coach Bill Belichick on if they have an advantage over Eagles because of experience. “The team that plays the best on Sunday is going to have the advantage.”
Belichick is well-known for his no-nonsense approach to press conferences. In fact, watching reporters attempt to bait him into a hot take has become somewhat prevalent on social media around this time of year.

Although New England has the experience with him and Brady appearing in their eighth Super Bowl as a combo, Philadelphia has embraced their underdog role by playing with a chip on their shoulder throughout the playoffs.
The Patriots had their hands full with the surprising Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Conference Championship. Meanwhile, the Eagles made quick work of the formidable Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Conference Championship—proving they are more than ready for the big stage.
That said, it seems Belichick is doing his best to ensure his team can avoid another slow start to the game by playing the card that brings along his legendary mind tricks through the press (whether he says little or nothing at all).
