Between injuries and a car accident involving his mother, New England Patriots veteran James White is more than willing to look forward to next season. And, I mean, who could blame him.
White was technically a free agent in the offseason, though it always felt inevitable he'd end up back with the Patriots. Nevertheless, the talented young man is ready for what waits ahead.
Article Continues Below“Free agency is really strange,” Patriots talent James White said. “Honestly, day to day everything kind of changes a little bit. Some days a team may have interest, other days they may not. … It’s a little different than you might ever imagine. It’s a lot of worrying what’s going to be next and where you’re going to be next.
“But obviously, the Patriots were in the mix the whole time and it’s good to be back. It’s good to be back with these guys and just find a way to improve. That starts now.”
Time will tell what kind of impact James White has, or even just his role, but getting back to just playing football has to be nice. It's been a few seasons since he had his breakout 2018 campaign, but given how the Patriots use their backs, and with White a versatile talent, hopefully everything falls into place for the guy. He and his family have been through a lot.
