Philadelphia Eagles star offensive tackle Lane Johnson made headlines over the weekend when he said that the New England Patriots are a “fear-based organization” and that he'd rather enjoy himself winning one Super Bowl than be miserable while winning five.

Former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi disputed these remarks almost immediately, and now current linebacker Marquis Flowers is echoing those sentiments.

Flowers posted a number of tweets on the topic on Monday, headlined by one direct response to Johnson's comments:

After a series of responses further debating the subject, Flowers continued to drive home his point:

Hell would you rather cheer for 1 SuperBowl parade or 5?

In addition to sharing his response to Johnson's words, Flowers defended head coach Bill Belichick and their defensive game plan under former coordinator Matt Patricia:

Don’t blame coaches! Blame me, they put me in a spot to succeed and I didn’t execute my assignments well enough to win!

The former 6th round draft pick spent three years with the Cincinnati Bengals before being traded to New England this offseason for a 7th round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. After playing sparsely with the Bengals, he received a larger role with the Patriots on third down situations this season, often finding himself spying the QB or guarding tailbacks running routes.

Flowers' role in Super Bowl LII has been criticized, which led to the Arizona product defending Belichick and Patricia on Twitter. He'll hit the open market as a free agent this spring, and it's unclear whether he'll stay with New England.
