If you thought the New England Patriots were a real possibility to trade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen, you were probably wrong.
According to Peter King of NBC Sports, the Patriots don't appear to have a whole lot of interest in Rosen in spite of previous rumors that suggested otherwise.
Now, of course, this could always change.
The current chatter is that the Cardinals are holding out for a first-round draft pick in return for Rosen, even though there has been talk that Arizona probably won't receive anything more than a third-rounder in return if it does decide to move its young signal-caller.
Obviously, the Cardinals are trying to recoup some of what they lost by trading up to acquire Rosen at last year's draft, as they traded away numerous draft picks in order to take him at No. 10.

The Patriots were thought of as a potential destination due to the fact that Tom Brady turns 42 years old this summer, so it would make sense for New England to be looking for a successor.
But, the Pats probably don't want to pay the price of a first-round pick, which is definitely understandable given how poor of a rookie season Rosen had in 2018.
The UCLA product started 12 games and threw for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing just 55.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 66.7 this past year.
