The New England Patriots have opened up as a 3-point underdog against the Kansas City Chiefs, per BetOnline.ag.

Early on in the year, the Chargers struggled. However, they finished strong. They ended the regular season with a record of 12-4. They averaged 26.8 points per game, which ranked 6th overall in the entire league. Their defense wasn't quite as good, as it did allow 20.6 points per game which ranked 8th overall in the NFL. For the Patriots, many wondered coming into this season if they had the players to win enough games to even make the playoffs. Tom Brady is getting older and more fragile. It seems as if Brady always finished in the playoffs, winning a huge one against the Chargers.

For the Chiefs, they have young quarterback sensation Patrick Mahomes under center combined with Travis Kelce offensively, and the mind of Andy Ried has made them one of the best offensive juggernauts in the league.

The Patriots went 11-5 on the season. They averaged 27.3 points per game, which ranked 4th overall in the NFL. However, their defense wasn't quite as good, as they did allow 20.3 points per game, which ranked 7th in the entire league.
