Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels of the New England Patriots was asked about his decision to not join the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff as the head coach. In an interview, the Patriots coach had this to say,

“I know they have done a great job. They have a tremendous staff. Coach Reich does a great job. Chris Ballard is obviously tremendous in his role in what they do in their organization is pretty special. I’ve learned a lot being here[New England]. This is a great place to be. I learn from Bill daily.”

McDaniel recognizes that the Colts do have a great staff but notes that this was a better decision for him to stay with the Patriots for family reasons and he also gets to learn from a coach like Bill Belichick every single day inside the office.

McDaniel's will certainly have more coaching opportunities down the line but at the moment, he is exactly what the Patriots need. He has done a great job as the Patriots offensive coordinator, which he has been since 2012. He has contributed to most of the Patriots and Tom Brady success throughout the past decade. New England has always been known as a system offense and we all have seen the type of success that they have had. That can all be contributed to what Josh McDaniels has done in New England and he certainly wouldn't trade any of his experience for anything in the world.
