There had been plenty of speculation regarding the contract negotiations between the New England Patriots and tight end Rob Gronkowski. It appears they have now finally reached a lucrative agreement.
Gronkowski has been adamant about his lack of focus on the whole situation. He no longer has to after signing a revised deal that will add up to $4.3 million in incentives, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Needless to say, these incentives should not be too far-fetched to reach for a player of Gronkowski's caliber. In fact, the numbers are indicative of the ones he put up last season only slightly higher. When healthy, he is undoubtedly the best tight end in the league and arguably one of its top pass-catchers. It seems New England is asking that he maintain the kind of production he enjoyed in the 2017 campaign.
This should not be much of a problem considering the current state of New England's receiving corps. Their lack of firepower on the outside could force quarterback Tom Brady to rely on Gronkowski more than ever. If he meets the requirements then he will become the fourth-highest paid tight end in the league.
