It’s not a secret that New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski is yearning for a new contract, a more lucrative one, from his team. As he waits for something on that front to develop, he’s already seen New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. laugh his way to the bank after signing a five-year, $90 million extension deal on Monday.
Gronkowski, however, did not show any resentment or even a tinge of jealousy over Beckham’s hitting the jackpot on the negotiation table while speaking in front of reporters on Tuesday. The ever-gregarious tight end even had some nice words for Beckham, per Henry McKenna of USA Today Sports.

Rob Gronkowski will make $10 million in the next season, which isn’t shabby, but it is simply dwarfed by Beckham’s $21 million salary cap hit in 2019, when his extension deal starts to kick in.
Gronkowski hasn’t been the only Patriots player to congratulate Odell Beckham Jr., as New England wideout Julian Edelman has already done that via Instagram.
Perhaps Gronkowski and Edelman can greet Beckham in person this Thursday during a preseason match between the Pats and the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
