The New England Patriots are dealing with a lot of negative attention once again as they head into the NFL playoffs with a report recently surfacing on ESPN about a rift in the front office. If there's any truth to the report, things have gotten ugly between the three biggest figures within the organization and it comes as no surprise that owner Robert Kraft isn't a happy man right now.

Apparently, Kraft was very upset after the controversial report came out and caused quite a stir amongst the media and the team's fans. The longtime owner of the Patriots spoke with The MMQB’s Peter King about the situation and expressed his anger, via NESN's Ricky Doyle.

“I know that Robert Kraft in the past, when he feels he has been wronged, or when he wants to get his message across, he will get his message across somehow, someway,” King said Tuesday on WEEI’s “Dale & Holley with Keefe.” “Maybe he will have a press conference. Maybe he’ll talk to somebody in the media. Maybe he’ll talk to me. I don’t know, I have not talked to Tom Brady, I certainly haven’t talked to Bill Belichick. I can’t explain why they reacted the way they did, but early on in this story, and Robert Kraft with me Friday night — he was extremely upset by this.

“Just extremely upset because he feels that, especially the part of the story about Garoppolo and the inference he ordered the code red is absolutely, unequivocally false.”

There couldn't have been a worse time for this report to come out about the rumored discord within the Patriots organization. New England is trying to repeat as Super Bowl champions and they've got a good chance to do so as the top seed in the AFC.

The real question is what happens after this season comes to an end with or without another Super Bowl title to their credit. Rumors are swirling about Bill Belichick potentially wanting out following the supposed rift with Tom Brady and Kraft, but he has since refuted reports he will head elsewhere.

Needless to say, there's no telling what will happen in New England, especially if the team fails to live up to expectations in the playoffs.
