Tom Brady may have left out any mention of the New England Patriots in his retirement announcement. But his former team didn't forget about him.

Just minutes after Tom Brady made the announcement, the Patriots' official Twitter account sent out a short but sweet message to commemorate their time together.

Robert Kraft, longtime owner of the the Patriots, sent out his own heartfelt statement to the quarterback that he entrusted his franchise to for two whole decades.

“Words cannot describe the feelings I have for Tom Brady, nor adequately express the gratitude my family, the New England Patriots and our fans have for Tom for all he did during his career. …

“I have the greatest respect for Tom personally and always will. His humility, coupled with his drive and ambition, truly made him special. I will always feel a close bond to him and will always consider him an extension of my immediate family.”

Robert Kraft may own the team but Tom Brady is the human embodiment of the New England franchise. Things may not have ended in great terms between QB and the team that drafted him, but the iconic moments Tom Brady made in a Patriots uniform will forever echo in the annals of franchise history.
