Those who have money riding on the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the New England Patriots may not find this news amusing, but it’s true: The Patriots have been undefeated at home against AFC teams when quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman were both active. At least, that’s according to the data posted by Boston Sports Info.
Julian Edelman and Tom Brady have NEVER lost a game to an AFC opponent at Gillette Stadium in a game they both played in

The Patriots’ extended this obscure streak to 36 games back in Week 5 of this season, when they took down the Indianapolis Colts in Foxboro to the tune of a 38-24 score. Brady was a bit shaky under center with two interceptions, but got the job done nonetheless, finishing the game with 341 passing yards and three touchdowns on 34-of-44 completions.
Julian Edelman, on the other hand, mustered 57 receiving yards on seven receptions. It’s a solid way for the Kent State product to announce his return to action after he missed the Pats’ first four games of the season to serve a suspension. The 32-year-old wideout was hit with a four-game ban due for his violation of the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The Patriots, however, didn’t need Edelman to win their first two home games of the season before last week’s showdown with the Saints. They beat the Houston Texans in Week 1 (27-20) and embarrassed the Miami Dolphins in Week 4 (38-7).
At least one streak is going to be snapped this weekend in the Chiefs-Patriots tilt, as Kansas City is also putting their unbeaten 5-0 record this season on the line against Tom Brady and company.
