New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady reportedly missed out on several million dollars this season by not being able to reach incentives in his restructured contract.

Brady was once again the driving force in helping the Patriots capture another AFC East title, and they'll now get a chance to relax a little before the divisional round matchup on Jan. 13.

However, while Brady put together enough performances to lead New England to another division title, he wasn't able to match the stats needed to add a lot of extra money in his pocket.

This year the Patriots and Tom Brady agreed to a revised contract that was designed to pay him more like the elite quarterback he has been throughout his NFL career. The deal would give Brady a bonus of $1 million each for finishing in the top five in passing yards, passing touchdowns, passer rating, completion percentage and yards per attempt.

Brady finished in the Top 5 in all five of those statistical categories last year, so when he signed that contract this year, he surely expected to earn the full $5 million. Instead he’s set to earn zero.

Of course, we all know that Brady is doing just fine when it comes to his bank account, so it's safe to say that he's way more focused on winning another Super Bowl title at this point.

The Patriots earned consecutive wins to finish the regular season, and they'll hope to carry that momentum over into the playoffs.
