New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been questioned a lot the last few years about when he will hang up the cleats but based on his comments during the “Why Sports Matter” podcast he still feels like he has more years to go.

Brady already has five super bowl rings and eight super bowl appearances but that isn't enough for Brady and he feels like he needs to accomplish more.

“Once you stop, you’re done,” Brady said on the “Why Sports Matter” podcast, as transcribed by WEEI. “I still feel there’s things to accomplish. And I’ve had an opportunity, based on all the things that happened the last 12 years of my life, you know, to put myself in a position to achieve things that no one else has achieved.

“So I feel like I kind of have to do it. … It’s (expletive) going to be hard to do. But I think I can do it.”

Even if Brady retired today we would go down as one of the best quarterbacks of all time, and maybe the best but he also wants to continue because he feels most comfortable on the field.

“I don’t trust a lot of people. That’s probably why I love football so much because it allows me to be who I am in a very authentic way that is hard for me to be when I walk off the field.”

Brady will have another chance to secure his legacy this weekend when he faces off against the Los Angeles Chargers.
