As he enters his 23rd season as head coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick is going strong as ever. As the team continues its OTAs, Belichick is leading the way just as he always has.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, some of the Patriots' veterans on defense are amazed by how Belichick still has the same energy he always has even as he enters his seventh decade of life. Devin McCourty said that he is the model of consistency and is maintaining the same intensity.

“I've always said, when people ask me what's Bill like, that he's the model of consistency…Showing up to your job every day, having the same attitude, the same messaging, and being able to do that over and over again is hard.

“He continues to come in here, Day 1 of OTAs, for however many years it is, and it's the same intensity.”

Jerod Mayo, who played under Belichick for eight years and is now the Patriots' linebackers coach, is impressed at how Belichick does so much for the team.

“I'd say the thing about Coach, even though he's older, I don't even think he sleeps…He wears multiple hats. You never know where you're going to find him.”

Belichick's upcoming season will be extra interesting considering the Patriots have no offensive coordinator at the moment. Regardless of who it is or whether one even gets named, he will have the task of helping Mac Jones develop. The Patriots are looking to make it back to the postseason.
