New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady just turned 42 years old, but he doesn't appear to be showing many signs of slowing down (regardless of the “cliff” theory).

Brady is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 4,355 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 65.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.7 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Most importantly, he went on to lead the Patriots to their sixth Super Bowl title.

He did hit a bit of a rough patch during the second half of the season, but it was brief.

Former NFL quarterback Vinny Testaverde, who played the game at 42 years old himself and was once a teammate of Brady's, can actually see the future Hall-of-Famer remaining productive until he's 50:

“Some guys can't move around in the pocket anymore. Some guys lose arm strength,” Testaverde said, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “But that's not the case with Tom, because he's in such good shape and he takes such good care of himself. He'll probably be able to do that until he's 50.”

Now, whether or not Brady actually plays until his 50 is another discussion and is obviously doubtful, but the fact that he is still so good at his current age is truly a marvel.

Testaverde adds that courage in the pocket, not arm strength, will become the main issue for Brady moving forward:

“The thing we won't be able to tell is, is he afraid to step up in the pocket and take the hit when he has to throw a ball when a guy is coming down the barrel at him. … Those are the things that go first.”

One thing is for sure: Brady remains intent on continuing to prove his doubters long, so who knows how long this ride will last.
