The New England Patriots will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night as quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers meet for their much-anticipated showdown.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said recently that he’s happy he doesn’t have to face Aaron Rodgers all that often. But what if Rodgers somehow became Belichick’s quarterback on the Patriots instead of Brady?

According to Ian O’Connor of ESPN, Brady has given that hypothetical scenario at least some thought, and he believes that Rodgers would end up doing a lot more damage in the Patriots’ system.

In a conversation with an NFL coach within the past few seasons, Brady said that if Rodgers had the Patriots' offensive system and exhaustive knowledge of opposing defenses, “He'd throw for 7,000 yards every year. He's so much more talented than me.”

As great as Brady has been over the years, even he admits that Rodgers is the more physically gifted quarterback. Not only does Rodgers have the superior arm, but he also possesses much better mobility than Brady which allows him to make plays consistently out of the pocket.

And as productive as Rodgers has been through the years, there’s a sense from some Packers fans that Mike McCarthy’s offensive system has not been able to fully maximize his talents. That likely won’t be the case in New England, where Belichick has consistently gotten the most out of Brady and the team as a whole.

No one will truly know what would happen if Rodgers would actually be as dominant as Brady believes he would be if he played on the Patriots. But it's obviously a fun “what if” to think about, Packers fans aside.
