Matthew Slater has been a staple of the New England Patriots' special-teams unit for years but he's never had a touchdown in his career—until Sunday. Slater scored his first career touchdown after New England blocked a punt to extend their lead over the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots selected Slater in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of UCLA. Ever since he joined the team, he has been arguably the best special teams player in the NFL.

Due to him being on special teams over the years, the de facto wide receiver hasn't had many opportunities to find the end zone. In his 161st career game in the NFL, he has finally scored his first touchdown.

The Patriots' special-teams ace has earned seven Pro-Bowl bids, one All-Pro honor, and has won three Super Bowls in New England. Now, he can add a special-teams touchdown to his impressive resume.
