New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had a disappointing end to his season with a wild card loss to the Tennessee Titans, but this season he proved that he still has a place in the league.

For many years people have questioned if it's the end for Brady, and every year he steps up to the occasion. This season, there were positives with were some negatives that need to be figured out moving forward.

Let's breakdown the three main takeaways from Brady's 2019 season.

3. Tom Brady still has what it takes to be an NFL quarterback

For all the talk about Brady struggling this year, he still was solid. There are a lot of teams that would take Brady to be their quarterback over who they are running with. On the season, Tom Brady threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

For all the talk about the Patriots struggles, Brady still led the team to a 12-4 record and they are still of the class of the hapless AFC East. If the team does decide to move on from him this offseason, they are making a big mistake.

2. Tom Brady has become more inconsistent

Tom Brady had some issues this season with inconsistency. Against the Buffalo Bills near the end of the season, he completed 78.8 percent of his passes, looking like the Brady of old. The last two games of the season against the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans, he completed less than 56 percent of passes.

The offense struggled and it led to two straight losses. The big question moving forward is what version of the gunslinger will show up next season. Will it be the one completing 70 percent of his passes or the one completing 56 percent of passes?

1. Brady needs playmakers around him

Tom Brady got some heat from his play this season, but many of his struggles was due to his lack of playmakers. The team tried to fill some holes bringing in Mohamed Sanu and N'Keal Harry, but both of those were major duds.

Earlier in his career, Brady might have been able to get away with the lack of playmakers, but this year he wasn't able to. All signs are pointing towards Brady coming back next year, either with the Patriots or somewhere else.

If it's with the Patriots, they need to do a better job of filling the team with playmakers for Brady to have more success.
