Drew Brees just had a Monday night to remember. He placed his name in the annals of football history as one of the best quarterbacks ever. He proved his legacy as one of the best by grabbing three records in a single game.

Fox Sports posted a congratulatory tweet to the 40-year-old passer with an image that had his face superimposed to comic-book hero Superman.

For Brees to pull off such a feat deep into his career is nothing short of phenomenal. He's had such a great career so far. And for him to reach these milestones in his career is a testament to his incredible skill and longevity as a football player.

However, he will be the first to claim that the road to claiming this record was anything but easy. This season alone, he had a thumb injury that kept him out for almost half of the season. Thankfully, Teddy Bridgewater managed to keep them at the top of the NFC South.

Moreover, he's always striving to improve in spite of everything he's achieved. Former New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush caught footage of the quarterback doing drills alone ahead the Colts game.

“A lot of people in this world wanna be great,” Bush said while filming his former QB, via Pop Culture Sports' John Newby. “A lot of young guys talk about it. They want to be flashy. A lot of young guys want the quick, easy shortcut route to greatness. Ain't no shortcuts to greatness, man. This is what it's about right here.”

Drew Brees finished the 34-7 win with a stat line of 307 passing yards, four touchdowns, and zero sacks.
