Drew Brees sure loves breaking his own records. With just one game left to play, the New Orleans Saints quarterback is set to shatter the NFL record for completion percentage, a distinction that is held by none other than Brees himself.
Brees has completed 75.3 percent of his passes this season, one year after completing a historic 74.4 percent of his throws (guess whose record he broke last year?)
Since 2009, Brees has broken the completion percentage record four times (which Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk points out), and barring an uncharacteristic performance against the struggling Carolina Panthers on Sunday, he is about to do it a fifth time.
The 40-year-old, who missed five games earlier this season due to a thumb injury, has thrown for 2,726 yards, 24 touchdowns and four interceptions while registering a passer rating of 115.7 on the year.
Two weeks ago, Brees had his most impressive outing of the season, going an inhuman 29-for-30 with 307 yards and four touchdowns in a win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Austin, Tx. native, who played his collegiate football at Purdue, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (32nd pick overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft.
He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Chargers, making one Pro Bowl before signing with the Saints in 2006. Since then, Brees has forged a Hall-of-Fame career, earning 12 more Pro Bowl selections while also winning a Super Bowl title during the 2009-10 campaign.
The Saints are 12-3 on the season and have clinched their third straight NFC South title.
