Starting at quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and making his debut, everybody welcome Sean Payton!

Wait, what?!

That's probably what everybody was thinking after a hilarious graphics blunder by ESPN misplaced the names of head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Ian Book in their split screen for the broadcast of Monday Night Football between the Saints and Miami Dolphins in Week 16.

Whether by design or accident, the idea of Payton playing QB for the Saints is hilarious. But hey, given the team's quarterback woes, it might not be a bad idea.

For what it's worth, Sean Payton is returning to the Saints' sidelines after missing their Week 15 game because of COVID-19 protocols. Meanwhile, Ian Book is starting for New Orleans amid the injury to Jameis Winston and the COVID-19 debacle of backup QBs Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian.

All jokes aside, though, Payton might really seriously consider playing at QB for the Saints after the rather rough start Book had in the game. He recorded one interception in the first half of the contest and failed to score as the Saints fell behind 10-3 at the half.

It remains to be seen how the Saints' QB situation will pan out moving forward, but fans are certainly hoping they don't have to rely on their head coach to throw the ball to the end zone. At 57 years old, Payton might have a hard time doing that.
