The New Orleans Saints are slated to host the visiting Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 5 matchup on Monday Night Football. However, Hurricane Delta is expected to hit Louisiana on Friday evening and possibly spoil the football festivities, according to The Athletic.

The Saints are currently considering evacuating at Indianapolis on Thursday because of the looming storm and have even discussed a contingency plan with the NFL to play their Monday night game against the Chargers there, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

Team and league officials will monitor the progression of the storm on Wednesday before deciding in the afternoon whether they will push through with the evacuation plan on Thursday.

On the field, the Saints have yet to find their luck in the early stages of the season. The Drew Brees-led squad remains to be inconsistent throughout the course of their first four games of the season.
