New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara has been making headlines of late for all the wrong reasons. The 26-year-old is currently facing a looming suspension from the NFL arising from his arrest last February on felony battery charges.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has now spoken out about the situation, and at this point, the high-ranking New Orleans executive is just preparing for any and all eventualities:

“We really just have to wait and see what happens,” Loomis said Thursday during a podcast appearance, via Jeff Duncan of nola.com. “For me, I always try to (determine) what's the worst-case scenario and what's the best-case scenario. We have to be prepared for anything. That’s really the way we approach anything and everything, is be prepared for anything that can happen.”

Reports suggest that Kamara could be facing up to six games on the sidelines once the league makes its decision on his suspension. It is also worth noting, however, that the aforementioned suspension could be pushed back to 2023 if the NFL opts to wait for the results of the legal process in the Saints star's case.

Kamara is expected to be a key piece for New Orleans this coming season and it goes without saying that a suspension will serve as a significant blow for this team in 2022.
