The New Orleans Saints managed to get back into the win column in spectacular fashion with a dominant victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. Head coach Sean Payton made it clear that he is trying to send a message on a historic night for quarterback Drew Brees.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the future in New Orleans now that Brees is reaching the end of his illustrious career. They got a small taste of life without him early in the 2019 NFL season when he suffered a thumb injury; they were able to maintain thanks to backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

As solid as Bridgewater was, there is no question that this team is a bonafide Super Bowl contender with Brees under center. While they may have fallen short in a heavyweight showdown with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14, they responded quite nicely against a Colts team that was supposed to be competing for their playoff future.

Brees is coming off one of the best performances of his career after setting an NFL record for completion percentage by connecting on 29 of 30 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-7 win. Although he may have broken every major passing record in the book, he is still showing no signs of slowing down.
