The New York Giants are finalizing a four-year extension for wide receiver Sterling Shepard. According to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, the contract extension is worth $41 million.

Shepard's new deal also includes $21.3 million in guaranteed money, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Shepard told SNY's Scott Thompson in December he would love Eli Manning to be his quarterback again.

Yeah, I'd love to. You never know what you're getting in the draft or whatever and he's proven he can play in this league. He's been in the league for a long time doing his thing, so I'd love for him to be my QB.

He still has it in him, in my eyes. Smartest guy I ever played with and he's still making all the throws. You can see last week, he made a lot of great throws, made great decisions with the ball, so I don't see why not.

The fourth-year wideout out of Oklahoma gets his wish with his new contract with the Giants. Unless New York snags a first-rate quarterback in the NFL Draft later this month, Giants fans will see a lot of the Manning-Shepard tandem on the field.

The 26-year-old Shepard will most likely team up with Golden Tate as the starting wide receiver duo for the Giants in 2019. With the departure of star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, they have huge shoes to fill.

Shepard, who started in all 16 regular season games for New York, caught for 872 yards and four touchdowns on 66 receptions in the 2018 NFL season.
