It has been a difficult 2018 campaign for New York Giants second-year tight end Evan Engram as he has struggled to stay on the field due to nagging injuries.

He has had missed this past Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles after he felt his hamstring get tight in warmups prior to the contest. Despite that being the case, Engram has voiced on Monday afternoon that he believes he has a chance to play in Week 13 action against the Chicago Bears, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Engram has been limited to just seven games played this season where he has hauled in 23 receptions on 33 targets for 257 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has totaled more than 50 receiving yards just twice while failing to crack 30 receiving yards on four occasions in the 2018 campaign. This is a significant drop off from his strong rookie campaign where he had 64 receptions for 722 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 15 games played.

His production has tallied off due to his struggles with his health, but he has also had continued troubles with drops, which were largely an area of needed improvement following his rookie year. It simply hasn't been the season that he had hoped to put forth with the hope of further establishing himself as one of the key cogs to the passing game alongside star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., wideout Sterling Shepard, and standout rookie Saquon Barkley.

Engram has the next few days this week to prove that he is physically ready to play, which could be a tricky situation given that he's dealing with an injury that could linger on if not handled properly moving forward. If he is unable to give it a go once again, the Giants could turn to veteran tight end Rhett Ellison, who had four catches on six targets for 77 receiving yards against the Eagles.
