New York Jets head coach Adam Gase isn't shy about discussing the team's playoff hopes heading into next season.
Gase is now the new man in charge after several disappointing seasons in a row, and he'll try to turn things around for the franchise moving forward.
The Jets have already taken some positive steps towards trying to do that, with the offseason acquisition of Le'Veon Bell being a huge boost for the offense.
So, with some new pieces on the roster, Gase thinks New York will be in the playoff hunt come December if all goes according to play.
Here's what he had to say the playoff chase, courtesy of ESPN's Rich Cimini:
With Bell in the backfield and Sam Darnold under center, there's no doubt that Jets fans will be optimistic about what they can accomplish offensively.
If the team can also make progress on defense, they could be one of the most improved teams in the league next season.
“If we stay healthy, we should be in the conversation in December. I mean, that's realistic. We have a good quarterback; we have a lot of good pieces around him. We feel like we added a lot of good pieces on defense. It's all going to be about how we play in that late November-December area.”
