The New York Jets announced on Tuesday morning that they are placing the franchise tag on Breece Hall. Following the club's decision, Hall shared his immediate reaction on X (formerly Twitter).

Hall, who is 24 years old, claims he is the type of person who bets on himself. He states he is going to continue working while on the franchise tag, and that he'll see everybody soon. From the sounds of it, it appears Hall and is agent will continue negotiating a new contract with the Jets.

“Always been the type to bet on myself. Been working…see y'all soon, Love,” said Hall with a crossing fingers emoji.

Breece Hall is projected to make just over $14 million next season with the franchise tag. It's believed the Jets are planning on continuing contract negotiations with the fourth-year veteran. If a new deal is not agreed upon by the July 15 deadline, then Hall will be forced to play next season under the tag.

It is not clear what kind of contract Hall is seeking. However, it is believed he is seeking a deal that is about three to four years and worth roughly $41 million total. That would make Breece Hall one of the highest-paid running backs in the league.

Hall is coming off arguably his best season in the NFL so far. Although the Jets struggled throughout the 2025-26 campaign, the former second-round pick proved to be a reliable running back for New York. He ended last season with 1,065 rushing yards (career-high), 380 receiving yards, and five total touchdowns (four rushing).
