The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets each failed to reach the postseason as a result of the 2018 campaign. However, both teams appear to be on the right path to success, with the tandem of typically lowly AFC franchise expected to be overly aggressive this offseason.

As a result, it is now being reported that the Jets and Browns — in addition to the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens — have already expressed interest in free agent linebacker C.J. Mosley.

“Teams most connected to free agent [middle linebacker] C.J. Mosley at this point are the Browns, Jets, Colts and Ravens,” writes Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “Could be others involved, too. Redskins were earlier, but Landon Collins agreement may have changed that. Sounds like Jets have been the most aggressive with the offer.”

Solidifying such a notion for the Browns, it appears as though the Ravens want to re-sign the veteran linebacker but might not have the means to do so.

“The Browns are interested in the four-time Pro Bowl linebacker, whose been highly sought-after on the first day of the ‘legal tampering’ period, a league source told cleveland.com,” writes Mary Kay Cabot. “The Ravens want to re-sign him, but they might not have the money to do it.”

On the other hand, the Jets appear primed to sign a slew of free agents this offseason, and it seems as though New York is ready to spend the big bucks.

In addition to having an interest in Mosley, it is no secret that the Jets have continued to be linked to former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell as well.
