In 2015 the Al Jazeera America released a documentary called “The Dark Side: Secrets of the Sports Dopers,” which insisted that Peyton Manning along with Ryan Howard and Ryan Zimmerman had used performance-enhancing drugs during their career. At the time Manning denied all reports saying he would never take PED's and the story seemed to just go away.
It seems that Manning might not have been telling the truth when he said the movie was a “total fabrication,” and he was actually telling the courts differently.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Manning actually admitted to most of the things that the reports said including taking PEDs.
“I did part of my training at the Guyer Institute which is like this anti-aging clinic in Indiana. [Peyton Manning] and his wife would come in after hours and get IVs,” Sly said in a recording obtained by Al Jazeera.
“So one thing that Guyer does is he dispenses drugs out of his office which physicians can do in the United States it’s just not very many of them do it. … And all the time we would be sending [wife] Ashley Manning drugs. Like growth hormone, all the time, everywhere, Florida. And it would never be under Peyton’s name, it would always be under her name.”
For a quarterback who many thought always approached the game the right way, this seems like a real bombshell that could really tarnish his legacy.
So far Manning hasn't released any statements, but if these are in the court documents, it's going to be very hard to deny at this point.
